Job Description
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Media Relations Canada, the Manager supports the development, implementation and coordination of external public relations strategies, in Canada with the goal of establishing and maintaining a favorable image of the company with investors, potential customers, employees and the public.  Interface with media relations agency.
Key Responsibilities: 
  • Plan and direct media relations programs to position Accenture in Canada across major industries and locations
  • Plan, direct, manage and participate in media interviews
  • Foster strategic relationships with key media across Canada
  • Collaborate with firm spokespersons to develop interview strategies and specific message points prior to media briefings
  • Serve as a key contact for selected media
  • Develop and direct local crisis management programs as required
  • Integrate local media relations plans and activities with other integrated marketing programs
  • Drive and measure media share of voice in Canada
  • Develop and evaluate other metrics as required to assess effectiveness of media relations programs or initiatives
Reports to:                  Senior Manager Media Relations, Canada
Supervises:                 Media relations agency
Internal Relationships: Geographic marketing team including Internal Communications; Workplace; Global crisis team; North American Media Relations team;

External Relationships:      National and local media

Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or other four-year university degree   
• Minimum of  5 + years of Media Relations experience in the professional services or technology sectors, either in house or in agency
Preferred Qualification
  • Bilingual an asset 
Professional Skill Requirements
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills
  • Excellent social media skills and how to apply with media and influencers
  • Professional services, television production, and or journalism experience an asset
  • Strong business acumen and knowledge of Accenture’s area of business and overall business strategy
  • Strong, demonstrable media relations skills and relationships in Canada, with Montreal/Quebec an asset
  • Global perspective and understanding of business marketplace.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Budget management and financial reporting skills for project(s)
  • Passion for well-executed deliverables in support of Accenture business strategy
  • Negotiation, mediation and conflict management skills to resolve complex or disputed issues
  • Able to influence executives through relationship building and executive-level presence.
  • Leadership skills—supervision, mentoring and managing Accenture specialists/analysts and contractors
  • Ability to develop and apply creative, workable solutions to project-related issues
  • Ability to work autonomously and independently
  • Ability to manage projects under tight deadlines
  • Demonstrated leadership, teamwork and collaboration in professional setting; either military or civilian 
Work Requirements:        
  • Minimal travel (25%)
