People in our Client Delivery & Operations career track drive delivery and capability excellence through the design, development and/or delivery of a solution, service, capability or offering. They grow into delivery-focused roles, and can progress within their current role, laterally or upward.
 
The Application Development Consultant develops and designs technologies that improve the way our clients and the world works. Supporting the core of Accenture's Technology business, they are eager to learn and use that curiosity to solve Technology problems through developing, designing, and configuring software products or systems that enable client strategies. They use their versatility and experience to design technology solutions that meet client requirements from analysis to implementation.
  
The Application Development Consultant has the following responsibilities within Accenture:
 
  • Drives Conversion and Cutover planning while fitting into a multi-release environment
  • Adapts existing methods and procedures to create alternative solutions to moderately complex problems.
  • Understands the strategic direction set by senior management as it relates to team goals.
  • Uses own judgment to determines optimal solution to recommend.
  • Primary upward interaction is with direct supervisor or teams leads. Generally, interacts with peers and/or management levels at a client and/or within Accenture.
  • Determines methods and procedures on new assignments with minimal guidance.
  • Decisions often impact the team in which they reside and occasionally impact other teams.
  • Manages medium-small sized teams and/or work efforts at a client or within Accenture.
Basic Qualifications: 
  • Minimum of Bachelor's Degree required in related field.
  • Knowledge and hands-on development experience of 3-5 years with:
 
    • IBM WebSphere DataPower.
    • IBM Websphere - any platform MQ messaging (IBM MQ)
    •  IBM Websphere Application Server (WAS)
 
Responsibilities:
  • Requires identifying and assessing complex problems for area of responsibility. Creates solutions in situations in which analysis requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.
  • Requires adherence to strategic direction set by senior management when establishing near-term goals.
  • Interaction is with senior management at a client and/or within Accenture, involving matters that may require acceptance of an alternate approach.
  • Willing to travel when needed.
Professional Skill Requirements:
 
  • Proven success in contributing to a team-oriented environment.
  • Proven ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment.
  • Desire to work in an information systems environment.
  • Excellent leadership, communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills.
  • Bilingual proficiency is an asset.
