Finance Transformation, Senior Manager – Resources responsibilities:

·         Leading assessment and design efforts to propose new finance operating models and process improvement recommendations to our clients in Canada’s Resources sector.  Clients can include large and small to mid-sized enterprises in the Oil and Gas, Power Utilities and/or Mining industries.

·         Conduct analysis of existing finance operations to propose fact-based opportunities and recommended solutions based on similar experiences.

·         Apply leading best practices around process, organization and technology design - across all core finance areas: Record-to-Report (RtR), Procure-to-Pay (PtP), Order-to-Cash (OtC).

·         Lead larger project teams (10-20 consulting resources) on assessment, design and implementation initiatives across Finance Transformation programs.

·         Develop strong relationships with our clients’ Executives at the C Level and below.

·         Work effectively in a global environment within a highly diverse and multi-cultural workforce.

·         Be fully accountable for performance, cost, scope, schedule, quality, and overall revenue and profit objectives.

·         Provide appropriate business measurements for your project – in accordance to the project charter. 

·         Work with clients and our go-to-market teams to provide thought leadership in devising state-of-the art planning, forecasting & performance management solutions for our clients.


Basic Qualifications:

      A Bachelor's degree or higher (ideally in Business and /or Finance).

·         A minimum of 5-7 years in Finance Transformation experience with specific expertise in any of the following disciplines gained (preferably) with a leading international consulting firm:

O Defining Finance and Enterprise Vision

O Operating Model Optimization

O Process Benchmarking and Re-engineering

O Strategic Cost Management

O Shared Services Advisory            

              Deep consulting expertise with Finance and Accounting functions, e.g., Accounts Payable, Procurement, General Accounting, Financial Planning & Reporting, Data Analytics. 

              Minimum 5-7 years of consulting experience at the Manager or Senior Manager level for a Top 4 Consultancy.

Preferred Qualifications:

·         Extensive knowledge and experience within the Resources industry; Mining related experience is desirable.

·         Proven sales ability including the development of new business and building upon existing client relationships.

·         Ability to clearly articulate go-to market and client management strategies.

·         Prior consulting experience leading large, complex change efforts in finance transformation for finance operations, corporate finance or risk management.

·         Strong knowledge of end-to-end finance processes and leading practices.

·         Prior consulting experience leading changes in organizational, process or technology improvement.

·         Experience leading shared services design and implementation efforts.

·         CPA, CFA, CA, MBA, CMA or experience as an accountant.

·         Strong experience applying knowledge of regulatory compliance including Sarbanes-Oxley, IFRS and Basel II.

·         Strong experience in creating business change using SAP, Oracle or PeopleSoft Financials.

·         SAP, Oracle, or PeopleSoft Financials configuration, conversion or detailed process design.

·         Understanding of current events impacting the Financial Services Industry and implications on Financial Management.

·         Ability to interact effectively with senior-level client executives.
