Senior Manager, Accenture Consulting
Describe your role at Accenture Consulting.
I am part of the Health and Public Service team. I serve federal, provincial and municipal government departments and agencies with varied, complex mandates related to individual citizens, businesses and the overall community.
How do you integrate your work life and personal life?
Three things energize and sustain me: Serving / helping others first (clients, family, friends, students I mentor, my community), being a good steward of limited resources (human, financial, environmental) and owning my own personal growth and development (education and training, exercise and wellness). Every day I try to do at least one thing in each of the three areas, and I feel fulfilled whether it happens in my professional or private life.
What's the best piece of advice you've ever received?
The best advice I have ever received came from my sister, and it’s related to living a life with few regrets: Make the very best decision you can at the time using as many information inputs as are available to you. If it turns out to have been a poor decision, remember that you did your best, apologize and try to make amends for inadvertent hurt you may have caused, and then start again incorporating what you have learned.
