Principal Director – Accenture Research
As a Principal Director at Accenture Research, Armen sees his work as “trying to imagine what the future will look like, and helping people prepare for it”.
He follows global trends in economics, business, technology and society, and his research usually addresses topics at the intersection of business, government and society. Most recently, he has published on the advent of intelligent and immersive technologies, the future of learning, public-private partnerships and trends in globalisation. A major emphasis of his work for 20 years has been to persuade businesses and governments to, well, do the right thing. He hopes he has nudged them in that direction but recognises that there’s a long way to go.
Other than writing his research, Armen enjoys bringing the lessons of the research to life through workshops and curated experiences. He also designs and leads training courses to help others do the same.
Armen’s opinions and research insights regularly feature in tier-1 economics and business journals and publications, and he is a frequent speaker and moderator at events. His consulting supports the development of international business strategies for Accenture and its multinational clients across industries.
The nature of Armen’s research regularly places him in multi-stakeholder environments like the G20 and the World Economic Forum. He currently has a formal role facilitating the B20 Task Force on the Future of Work & Education, representing the voice of business to the G20 governments; he held a similar role for the 2018 G20 Argentinian Presidency.
Formally based in London, Armen established Accenture’s think tank in India which he ran from New Delhi for three years; he also helped build the firm’s think tank in China and currently lives between the UK and Latin America, having set up and run the regional think tank from São Paulo, Brazil, for five years.
