Accenture Opens Innovation Center in Recife in the Porto Digital

The new space is the company’s largest innovation center in Latin America

RECIFE, Brazil; Apr. 6, 2017 – Accenture (NYSE: ACN) has launched the Accenture Innovation Center in Recife, the company’s largest innovation center in Latin America and a primary location where the company will develop innovative and disruptive solutions for clients.

At the Innovation Center located at Armazém 12 in the Porto Digital, in front of Marco Zero Recife, approximately 250 Accenture professionals with deep industry experience will provide clients with a broad range of skills and capabilities in advanced and emerging technologies. The Innovation Center in Recife is a core part of Accenture’s growth strategy in the country, as Brazilian organizations in every sector look to accelerate their digital transformation.

Clients can expect hands-on interaction with Accenture’s innovation-led approach at the Innovation Center. Accenture commissioned a comprehensive revitalization of Armazém 12 in the old port area by designer Marcelo Dantas, who is known for using sensory and perception techniques through digital technology.

“Investing in new collaborative environments like the Innovation Center helps create greater integration with our clients and ecosystem, resulting in more opportunities to take advantage of the latest digital innovations and drive stronger business results," said Leonardo Framil, Accenture CEO for Brazil and Latin America.

The opening ceremony was attended by senior leaders of Accenture, as well as officials from municipal, state and federal government. Among the company’s executives who attended the event along with Leonardo Framil were Gianfranco Casati, Accenture group chief executive for Growth Markets, Bhaskar Ghosh, Accenture group chief executive for Technology Services, and Yves Bernaert, senior managing director of Accenture Technology for Europe, Africa and Latin America.

The Innovation Center, combined with other Accenture capabilities in Brazil, positions the company at the center of the Brazilian ecosystem focused on digital transformation. Accenture also recently opened the Analytics Innovation Center in Rio de Janeiro, where the company develops advanced analytics solutions to help clients unlock trapped value and improve performance, and the Accenture Interactive studio in São Paulo, which brings together all its digital and creative skills under one roof to help clients provide the best customer experiences to users.

Innovation centers are an integral part of the Accenture Innovation Architecture, which brings together capabilities from across the company – from research, ventures and labs to studios, innovation centers and delivery centers – to develop and deliver disruptive innovations for clients, and to scale them faster.

Accenture employs about 1,400 professionals in Pernambuco specializing in advanced technologies and platforms that serve the largest Brazilian and global organizations in every industry. By the end of the year Accenture is targeting to hire another 600 people, including new talent recruited from local universities with whom Accenture maintains close relationships.
