Job Description
A proven capacity to lead projects at a technical and operational level,
Technology Directors work with closely with their teams to plan, execute
and deliver projects with little to no oversight at the Partner level. They are
actively involved in maintaining and evolving the client relationship. An
effective Technology Director inspires and educates their teams, and
broadens our horizons as a group.
Technology Directors work closely with our clients and their partners to
understand their technical capabilities, strategic goals, and legacy systems.
Based on this knowledge and our experience as a company, they define a
Technical Solution and communicate this to all stakeholders – collaborating
with them to determine a robust, complementary integration and handover
process in pursuit of the strongest technical outcome.
Technology Directors may not code every day, but they strive to execute,
test and debug features whenever they can.
Working with your Product Manager and Technology team, you will be
heavily involved in sprint planning, feature prioritization, and risk
management. You work closely with our clients, but you are a first and
foremost a champion for your team. Expectation management, escalating
concerns, and balancing work evenly across the team are attributes of an
effective TD who understands that a project is a marathon, not a sprint.
A Technology Director is a member of the Company Leadership. They
are involved in proposing and shaping cross-disciplinary initiatives, and
representing Technology as part of the new business process and public
events - speaking engagements, industry events and awards.

Technology Directors provide senior leadership as they structure technology solutions for clients and deliver clean, well-documented code. Technology Directors play an active role in developing more junior engineering talent to ensure team members continue to grow and see new challenges.
What You Will Do:
- Provide hands-on senior-level leadership on product development work
- Propose and advocate for clean, functional design systems
- Develop robust, testable scalable technical solutions, following industry-standard best practices
- Write, debug, troubleshoot and optimize code with a view to delivering the best user experience
- Guide and mentor other developers within the team
We Are Looking For:
- 8+ years of web development experience that includes experience with agile methodologies
- Strong core JavaScript proficiency with projects utilizing ES6/7, transpilation and type systems
- Familiarity with one or more MV* frameworks (React, Angular, Vue etc.)
- Solid grasp of HTML and CSS, and principles of Responsive Web Design
- Experiencing implementing pre/post CSS processors and/or CSS modules
- Demonstrated understanding of task runners such as Gulp / Webpack / rollup
- Experience using GIT as part of a development team
- Experience/interest in native / React Native app development
- Strong organizational skills and eye for detail
- Ability to communicate technical concepts to a variety of audiences
