The collaboration between the Istituto Nazionale della Previdenza Sociale (INPS) and Accenture, qualified as a significant and innovative partnership, began in 2003 with the IT Application Re-platforming Program (moving from legacy systems to open systems) and the following Re-engineering Program. It continued over the years evolving in terms of knowledge, breadth of themes and variety of services provided.
In recent years, the ongoing global economic downturn has increased the need for welfare and social security benefits. Therefore, INPS has begun to rethink its role in the Italian Welfare scenario to support the government’s vision of structuring public administration more effectively.
In this new complex scenario, Accenture seamlessly supported and continues to support INPS in implementing an ordinary multi-year IT transformation program, in transformation of its IT systems and application portfolio, but also in the implementation of new procedures to provide a more effective support to the welfare state to face the current crisis.
