To improve the consistency of information and business processes across various units and geographies, a leading security services company worked with Accenture and Workday to consolidate more than 100 global human resource systems into a single cloud-based system of record.
Workday is a leading provider of SaaS-based enterprise solutions for HR, payroll and financial management that improve usability, agility flexibility and cost-effectiveness. Thus, Accenture helped the company implement a Workday solution for more than 50 countries and more than 60,000 end users. Following a successful implementation, Accenture took on responsibility for the ongoing development and maintenance of the Workday solution with nearly 80 percent of the company’s employees and locations now using Workday.
Accenture leveraged its highly-skilled resources in Accenture’s Cloud Centers of Excellence in the US and Accenture’s solution factory capabilities for Workday. Using a flexible SaaS support model, the Accenture team resolved over 2,100 support requests in the first nine months. The support has lowered the company’s annual operating costs and provided access to the certified and experienced HR Information Systems (HRIS) resources equipped to grow along with its business needs.
Accenture served as the systems integrator for all roles of the project, including: project management, solution architecture, design, build, testing, deployment and support.
During the implementation, Accenture leveraged leading practices for Workday and used Accenture Human Capital Management (HCM) Cloud Methodology to assess the company’s current HR IT landscape for optimization opportunities and then helped design a cost-effective, global HR IT architecture and roadmap that met the company’s HR strategic requirements.
The Accenture HCM Cloud Methodology leveraged Accenture Delivery Methods (ADM), but moved more towards an agile prototype-driven process. Using this particular methodology provides a higher degree of success during an implementation because it still leverages several important aspects of ADM – creating appropriate documentation, following a proper requirements gathering, design, testing and deployment process.
With Accenture’s help, Workday has been deployed to nearly 80 percent of the company’s employees in all countries in which the company operates within the agreed on timeframe of 28 months. Using a flexible SaaS support model, the Accenture team resolved over 2,100 support requests in the first nine months. The support has lowered the company’s annual operating costs and provided access to the certified and experienced HRIS resources that can grow along with future business needs.
With the Workday implementation, the company saw its business processes standardized and its recruiting processes streamlined, which accelerated its HR transformation activities in certain countries. This helped the company move to a location-based HR model, which, along with utilizing automation for the integration, resulted in multiple operational efficiencies.
