Dr. Julian Sham is a principal director and the Asia Pacific Clinical Services lead for Health and Public Service at Accenture. He brings more than 26 years of experience in healthcare to these roles, including more than 10 years as a practicing hospital doctor.
For the past 16 years, Julian has focused on healthcare IT and change management, managing healthcare projects involving IT implementations and clinical transformation across Europe, the United States, China, Australia, South East Asia and Singapore for both public sector and private organisations. His expertise includes skills in healthcare IT solution design life cycles, clinical engagement and stakeholder management.
Prior to joining Accenture, Julian held positions including clinical safety advisor, strategic business development clinical advisor and NHS IT clinical design lead. In these roles he helped deliver a National health information exchange capability to the Singapore health landscape, integrating patient medical information from disparate clinical IT solutions through a common portal; facilitated clinical design for delivery of electronic medical records systems and ensured adherence to IT clinical safety requirements.
He serves as a member of the Executive Committee for Health Level Seven International (HL7)(Singapore) and as a member of the Singapore Health Informatics Technical Committee. He lives in Singapore with his wife and two children. When he’s not working, he enjoys playing the guitar, golf and training in krav maga, a form of self-defence that combines elements of aikido, judo, boxing and wrestling.
