As a recruiter, what do you look for in potential applicants?
The ability to clearly articulate themselves, good interpersonal skills, well presented in a way that reflects the organization and the opportunity they are applying for.
What is your go-to interview question? Why do you ask this?
Outside of understanding candidates’ skills and experience, I am most interested in understanding candidates’ “drivers”. I’m keen to know what gets them excited, what they are passionate about, what a successful career looks like for them and what sort of environment they succeed in, taking into account management styles but also team culture.
What is the strongest piece of advice you can give a potential applicant?
• Do your research.
• Tailor your CV to the opportunity you are applying for.
• Utilize your network.
• Ask lots of questions!
