The Growth and Business Design team within Accenture Song is growing a phenomenal team of creative designers, strategists, venture architects and product developers around the globe. The role

Are you passionate about the industries, businesses and concepts of the future? Are you excited by helping organizations transform their strategy, explore opportunities and start new creative businesses?

We are looking for a growth-focused, entrepreneurial, and highly creative design strategist who can help envision and design future opportunities across industries.

You must be able to easily move between spaces-  from providing the structure and stimulus to help clients imagine their future and clarify purposeful visions, to leading research and invention processes for new concepts and guiding the creation of highly insightful materials. You need to be comfortable with ambiguity and confident in your ability to guide clients through it.

As a manager, you will draw on your experience to drive project design and delivery for clients facing disruption. You will bring your strategic, creative thinking expertise to land strategic intent, conduct internal and external research, ideate, and prototype potential solutions and services for businesses.

You work closely with designers to develop the visual and textual outputs and work products necessary to deliver value. You are comfortable relating to product leads and C-Suite clients where your insight, precision, and reliability instil confidence. You ensure client expectations are managed through great communication and relationship management skills. You are the custodian of the project keeping an eye on delivery quality, whilst also ensuring project profitability through management of administration details including scheduling, project reporting, and day-to-day project management of the team.
 

Alongside your project work, a Manager will be expected to participate in proposal development and pitching. Finally, you are an active member of our community, continually contributing to the further development of the practice with a keen interest in the areas of strategy and innovation.

What will you be doing and with whom?

  • Thought partner to the director / senior manager

  • Input into the design of programs of work for new client engagements

  • Co-designing growth strategies and customer propositions with clients

  • Design and delivery of ethnographic research activities including synthesis and insight discovery

  • Design and delivery of research into business and customer needs, industry and market shifts, emerging trends and future opportunities

  • Translating abstract concepts and new business ideas into tangible and engaging artefacts

  • Develop, test and iterate customer value propositions

  • Design and deliver ideation workshops

  • Ensure high standards are maintained in all client interactions and deliverables

  • Create and maintain good admin practices for your teams

  • Assist in business development with new and existing clients

  • Coaching and development of the team

  • Being an exemplar of the Growth and Business Design culture

As a Manager, you will be familiar with and have a point of view on:

  • Visionary strategy: understanding how organisations create and develop ambitious and adaptable strategies for the future.

  • Opportunity definition: looking at the intersection of customer, category, emerging trends and company assets and capabilities to define and rationalise areas of value for a business to explore.

  • Customer research: being comfortable defining unmet customer needs and testing the desirability of new concepts.

  • Insight crafting: confident in leading discovery interviews to unpack the challenges and opportunities within an organisation and present insights in a way that sparks new ideas or reveals an unspoken truth

  • Value proposition design: helping define concepts to take to market within defined opportunity spaces and how they provide value for customers and organisations.

  • Design-led storytelling: an understanding of how complex or abstract concepts can be translated and made impactful through visualisation, immersion and the use of mixed design methods.

What knowledge and capabilities will you draw on?

You will be well-suited for this position if you have:

  • experience in customer-centred strategy or innovation consulting, designing in complex and new spaces

  • experience in management consulting, helping clients solve complex problems

  • experience utilising a creative skill set, including developing unique customer value proportions, and or defining product requirements and or building growth strategies

  • working knowledge of strategic frameworks and methodologies

  • good understanding of business models, value propositions and operating models

  • strong research and design skills

  • strong visual thinking skills, including aptitude for representing ideas through conceptual drawings or illustrations

  • strong outcomes focus, with a capability to pivot project design and delivery to ensure client needs are met

  • strategic thinking skills, including aptitude to spot significance in ambiguous and complex situations

  • strength in project management skills with ability to manage quality and profitability

  • excellent written, verbal and visual communication skills

  • a can-do attitude and a creative and analytic mindset.



Qualifications

As a Manager, and more importantly, as a member of the Growth and Business Design community, it is essential that you be:

  • Collaborative, eager to work with a multi-disciplinary team of consultants across a broad range of wicked problems.

  • Comfortable with ambiguity, ready to muck about in the fuzzy front-end of a project to find the essence of the situation and frame or re-frame it as necessary.

  • Tenaciously curious, always wanting to find out more about what is going on, or simply following your intuition to further explore that which superficially seems unconnected.

  • Excellent at holistic thinking, always relating the detail back to the whole system and spotting significance.

  • Agile with synthesis, able to bring together divergent pieces to create new understanding and meaning.

  • Empathetic, capable of putting yourself in both the shoes of the user as well as the shoes of our clients to understand what motivates them and what their meaning of ‘good’ is.

What qualifications and experiences will be relevant?

You will be well-suited for this position if you have:

  • 5 + years relevant experience in a mix of the below:

    • solving complex problems in large corporations through an in-house role in strategy, growth or innovation

    • working in design/digital consulting practice or a creative agency

    • working on customer driven innovation and value proposition development

    • helped grow, start-up, accelerate new businesses and business concepts

    • exposure to user research, to better understand user’s problems and to test early concepts

    • translation of human behaviours into insights that inform concrete concepts and solutions

    • designing and rapidly testing concepts both digitally and face to face with customers

  • Qualification in strategy, design, innovation, marketing
