Job Description

The Procurement Category Lead role will primarily be responsible for supplier performance and contract management, as well as management of category portfolio activities in the ANZ Market Unit for Corporate Real Estate and Workplace categories. This will involve leading both global as well as local geographic initiatives to implementation.

This role will liaise with all levels of stakeholders within the category, other on-shore category leads, off-shore support teams and global category leads.

The role will provide category insight, advice, and influence to category stakeholders (client) and related teams. This will involve end to end category management, including the performance and contract management of Strategic suppliers (including a first-generation Integrated Facilities Management supplier), projects and/or process improvement activities to drive compliance and policy, and end-to-end management of sourcing projects including real estate projects, lease negotiations etc as required by both global and local Geographic Services needs.

This role will sit within the ANZ Procurement team and work in close collaboration with regional category leads, and relevant stakeholders to implement and manage initiatives that support agile and evolving business requirements. This role will also require agility to support and manage any future cross-category requirements and projects, including leading other P+ team members who are identified to support delivery.


The role will report to the ANZ Procurement Lead as part of the global Procurement Plus organisation.

Strategic Category Management

  • Identification and implementation of a category profile, in-depth understanding of the category, category strategic planning, and category pipeline activity, aligned with Global Procurement transformation strategy and local stakeholder requirements.
  • Stakeholder relationship management and strong engagement across both Global and Market Unit stakeholders and leadership to ensure that all objectives are being achieved.
  • Interface with stakeholders and delivery teams to kick-off any project planning, sourcing effort, including facilitating initial data gathering and scoping of project for the delivery organization.
  • Assess viability and prioritisation of projects and set client expectations given Accenture's experience and current market conditions.
  • Work as subject matter expert along with various Accenture teams to execute sourcing projects, negotiations, contract and performance management, contracting, and category guidance.
  • Present recommendations and strategic plans to Leadership for approval and implementation.
  • Bring innovative ideas, cost optimisation strategies, and new ways of working to the Accenture customer.
  • Accountability for delivery of category management and performance, sourcing and contracting pipeline, and transformational activities.
  • Participate in new business development, especially due diligence and solution design.
  • Lead delivery of services including spend under management and savings achievement.
  • Demonstrates mastery in designated categories, delivering strategic development and performance delivery of the category management function.

Supplier and Compliance Management

  • Liaise with legal and risk teams (both on and offshore) to ensure probity across all vendor arrangements in category.
  • Develop key supplier performance metrics and associated tracking/monitoring systems using existing procurement systems.
  • Review performance (qualitative and quantitative) of key suppliers against contracts and develop action plans for improvement.  Report outcomes and action plans to leadership.
  • Identify key factors of supplier risk and monitor suppliers to mitigate supply disruptions.
  • Track overall compliance of suppliers and buyers to contract terms and budgets and develop action or risk mitigation plans for improvements if required.
  • Measure performance versus contract terms and report back to key stakeholders.

Contracting and Implementation

  • Manage ultimate contracting process for strategic suppliers, including price and terms negotiations (along with internal client team) and in collaboration with both commercial stakeholders and legal and compliance teams
    • Develop detailed implementation plans for new contracts/services and project manage related procure to pay processes.
    • Develop and manage ongoing supplier relationship management plans using the 360 Value Chain program.
    • Implementation and ownership of global and local initiatives as they arise.

Process Management

  • Recommend Improvements and drive growth across the category.
  • Review operational results and identify opportunities for process changes to drive additional savings and improve overall results.
  • Assist in maintenance of category databases and track relevant market trends.
  • Support procurement operational projects based on regional or globally led initiatives.
  • Ensure all mandatory documents are properly filed and maintained for audit readiness where appropriate.
  • Support the ANZ Procurement Lead with general organization activities and participate in sourcing initiatives as requested.

Analytics

  • Work with Leadership and assigned account teams to obtain spend data, specific to category.
  • Conduct interviews with buyers and key customer stakeholders to determine existing strategies, priorities, and constraints.
  • Work with the ANZ Procurement team to report and prioritise initiatives and deliverables.
  • Leverage global Procurement support and shared delivery teams.

Qualifications

  • Qualifications
    • 5-10 years Procurement or Category Management experience in a Global Organization.
    • Experience managing large outsourced Workplace contracts (facilities management, security, storage, catering, utilities, etc) for a professional services company or in finance/banking/corporate services is desirable.
    • Corporate Real Estate experience, particularly in lease transactions and negotiations, design and construction contracts and services.
    • Preferably with experience working with facilities management and property/real estate stakeholders.
    • Team/People Management skills to facilitate collaboration and delivery of successful business outcomes.
    • Flexibility to work across multiple procurement categories and to support cross-pollination of the full ANZ Procurement team.
    • Strong project management and organisational skills
    • Strong category management and strategic sourcing skills
    • Previous experience in leading and implementing supplier relationship and performance management.
    • Computer literacy (eg. Word, Excel, PowerPoint) – minimum level: Intermediate to Advanced
