You’re as comfortable leading projects as you are diving into the details of workstreams and configuring SAP solutions, and you possess the communication and people skills to inspire teams to bring their A-game. SAP Basis Lead

  • Responsible for a small team of SAP Basis and HANA Consultants delivering different upgrades and migrations in a complex SAP landscape

Role & Responsibilities

  • Designing, Planning and delivering current and future SAP environments, upgrade cycles and upgrade strategies

  • Work with Process and Functional leads in SAP project to understand the Solution Architecture

  • Maintain and update a Landscape map and the usage, dependencies and availability of each component

  • Work with the Hardware, Hosting and Infrastructure providers, as well as the Support Service Partners and APSs to ensure continuous delivery of quality outcomes

  • Establish the Release Management Strategy as well as the Release Management Plan

  • Develop the SAP Landscape Build and Deployment Plan including Logical System

  • Work with a number of different internal and external teams, including BAU support, Projects, Channels, Infra and Hosting, Service Partners, etc. to define and implement the overall Technical Plan

  • Ensure the consistency and quality of delivery plans, run sheets and execution of those activities across the landscape

  • Directly manage and coordinate a small group of Basis Consultants

  • Maintenance of multi-landscape environments through client copies, system refreshes, upgrades, etc.

  • Cloud Experience – Installations and Migrations to Cloud, Strong knowledge on VMs provisioning in AWS/ or any other cloud vendors.


    Skills /Competencies/ Experience

    • 8+ years experience in hands-on SAP Basis and related technologies

    • 3+ years experience in managing a team of consultants

    • Good understanding of change management, release management and upgrade cycles

    • Strong exposure towards DevOps and Cloud technologies

    • Excellent written and oral communication skills

    • Able to work with offshore consultants

    • Solid project/program management skills.
