THE WORK:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced AI/ML Expert to help drive our artificial intelligence and machine learning initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in developing and implementing AI/ML solutions, with a proven track record of applying these technologies to solve complex problems.
Responsibilities include:
Design, develop, and implement advanced AI/ML models and algorithms - Lead projects involving state-of-the-art AI technologies
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritise AI/ML opportunities
Conduct data analysis and prepare datasets for diverse machine learning tasks
Optimise existing ML models and develop new ones to improve performance across different AI paradigms
Stay current with the latest AI/ML technologies and methodologies
Communicate complex AI/ML concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders
Mentor junior team members and contribute to the overall growth of the AI/ML practice .
Qualifications
HERE’S WHAT YOU’LL NEED
Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or a related field with a proven strong academic record
5+ years of experience in AI/ML development
Proficiency in Python and relevant ML libraries (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch)
Strong understanding of machine learning algorithms, statistical modelling, and various deep learning architectures
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
Strong communication and teamwork abilities
Demonstrated ability to apply AI/ML techniques to real-world problems
Familiarity with Generative AI (GenAI) and Large Language Models (LLMs), including their architectures, training processes, and applications
Preferred Qualifications and Experience
- Experience in the following AI fields:
- Generative AI (GenAI) - Large Language Models (LLMs)
- Natural Language Processing (NLP)
- Computer Vision (CV) - Deep Learning (DL)
- Advanced degree (Master's or Ph.D.) in a relevant field
- Publications in peer-reviewed AI/ML journals or conferences
- Familiarity with ethical AI practices and bias mitigation in AI systems
- Experience with AI model deployment and MLOps
- Experience with big data technologies and cloud-based platforms and services.
Important requirement of role due to highly classified nature of project:
Not a former citizen of a proscribed country (according to ITAR control regulations).
Not a dual citizen of a non-Five eyes country.
Citizens with willingness to obtain NV1 clearance
Onsite Canberra based for at least next 2 years
Bachelor’s degree in a technology related discipline
