Responsibilities:
Participate as a Middleware administrator (with a primary focus on Oracle Fusion Middleware platform) in the establishment of infrastructure managed services for the client:
Formulate and submit requests for information related to the implementation and operation of the client’s existing Oracle Fusion Middleware environments
Review available information and participate in workshops to understand existing Oracle Fusion Middleware platforms in preparation for taking over middleware operations
Create necessary operations documentation in preparation for service go live (e.g. System Understanding Documents, Standard Operating Procedures)
Demonstrate readiness for middleware operations go live in line with the published service establishment plan and schedule
Perform on going “business as usual” Oracle Fusion Middleware operations and administration tasks, including:
monitoring
health checks
code and config deployment
backups
performance management and tuning
availability management
capacity management
middleware installation and configuration
patching
routine middleware administration and maintenance tasks
resolution of production and non-production incidents, minimising any downtime or impact to performance
working through back logs of middleware related problem tickets
fulfilment of middleware related service requests
Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for middleware platforms, processes, and procedures
Help align middleware operations with DevOps and Agile principles
Contribute to the adoption of automation of middleware related management and operations tasks
Collaborate closely with other administrators on the team and the broader infrastructure (database, compute, storage, network, datacentre and public cloud) teams
Implement and practice security best practices across the middleware environments to ensure compliance with security standards applicable to federal government agencies
Practice continuous improvement by staying up to date with the latest industry trends and technologies to drive continuous improvement and innovation within the team
Provide current state middleware platform input into a public cloud migration project
Qualifications:
Minimum of 5 years of experience in operating Oracle Fusion Middleware products such as Identity and access management, ADF, WebCenter, OSB and BAM as a middleware admin on prem and in public cloud (Azure)
Proven experience in operating within IT Service Management and ITIL frameworks. Role requires existing ITIL v4 certification or obtaining one within 8weeks of commencing the job.
Proficiency in working within Linux environments and Windows environments
Proven experience or knowledge in one of the script languages Bash, Python, PowerShell, or Java
Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders and produce technical documentation
Sound understanding of networking concepts and security protocols
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Detail-oriented with a focus on quality and continuous improvement
Due to the secure nature of this role, Australian citizens with an active security clearance will be preferred.
