Storage and Management Systems Administrator
Job Description
The Storage and Management Systems Administrator is responsible for the administration and optimization of storage management systems, including Hitachi Common Suite, RemoteOps/HiTract, and HPE tools such as the Inform Management Console and StoreServ Management Console. This role involves ensuring the availability, performance, and reliability of storage infrastructure, as well as providing technical support and troubleshooting for related systems.
Key Responsibilities:
System Administration:
Administer and maintain Hitachi Common Suite, RemoteOps/HiTract, and HPE management tools.
Configure, monitor, and manage storage systems using Inform Management Console and StoreServ Management Console.
Performance Monitoring and Optimization:
Monitor the performance and health of storage systems and take proactive measures to optimize performance.
Analyze system metrics and logs to identify and address potential issues before they impact operations.
Incident and Problem Management:
Provide technical support for storage and management systems, including troubleshooting and resolving issues related to Hitachi and HPE tools.
Manage and resolve incidents in a timely manner, coordinating with vendors if necessary.
Configuration and Deployment:
Implement and configure storage solutions and management tools in accordance with organizational requirements and best practices.
Deploy updates and patches to ensure systems are current and secure.
Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain detailed documentation for system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
Prepare regular reports on system performance, incidents, and maintenance activities for stakeholders.
Security and Compliance:
Ensure that storage systems and management tools comply with organizational security policies and industry standards.
Implement access controls and security measures to protect data and system integrity.
Capacity Planning and Management:
Perform capacity planning and manage storage allocation to ensure that resources meet current and future needs.
Monitor storage utilization and forecast future requirements.
Collaboration and Support:
Work closely with other IT teams and departments to support cross-functional projects and initiatives.
Provide training and support to team members and end-users as needed.
Due to the secure nature of the role, Australian citizens with a federal government security clearance will be preferred.
