Service Reliability Engineering (SRE) Architect

Job Description

We are seeking a new talent to join the team, where you can collaborate in client-critical business application delivery, support and capability uplift. Application Support provides the capability to Operate, Run, and Support Applications in scope along with recommendation for automation, DevOps templates, patterns and framework. Work collaboratively with the client’s teams to address issues and recommend solution to resolve it. Application Support Services manage the application in Production (Prod) but will include DevTest and PreProd where required.

Key Responsibilities:

As a SRE Architect, you will work with SRE lead and the client team act as a software assessor, providing a dynamic service to identify and solve issues within multiple components of critical business systems. Define evaluation criteria for capability uplift and improvements. You will be expected to perform independently and become a Subject Matter Expert (SME).

You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the reliability and scalability of the organization's IT infrastructure and services. This role involves working closely with development, operations, and product teams to ensure that services are reliable, scalable, and efficient. The SRE Architect will lead efforts to automate and optimize processes, implement monitoring and alerting systems, and develop strategies for incident response and disaster recovery.

You will be required to actively participate and contribute to team discussions, as well as contribute to providing solutions to work-related problems. Mentor junior resources, coach and train as required.

•             Work with the client to establish Entry / Exit Criteria and align on the basis for identification, selection, and development of use cases for service improvements through automation.

•             Work with DevOps team to review templates, patterns, and framework to be developed for the applications in scope.

•             Review recurring incidents and problems for applications in scope to determine possible automation solutions.

•             Conduct end-to-end assessment of business processes and identify other potential use cases for automation.

•             Develop and review automation backlog list for the client review and approval.

•             Able to develop solutions to improve user experiences and increase the capability of the technology they use.

•             Develop and provide operational support for full-stack software applications.

•             Collaborate with development operations staff to create, monitor, and troubleshoot the system infrastructure.

•             Increase system resilience and serve larger customer volumes with expert-level coding, bulletproof release, and change management skills.

•             Improve automation and increase the system’s self-healing capability.

•             Collect operating system data and report performance metrics to stakeholders.

•             Manage cloud and database system maintenance, debugging production issues as they arise.

Job Qualifications (Must Have Skills)

•             Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP), containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes), and infrastructure as code (e.g., Terraform, Ansible).

•             Programming and Scripting: Proficiency in programming and scripting languages such as Python, Go, Bash, or similar.

•             Monitoring and Logging: Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, Splunk, or similar.

•             Automation and CI/CD: Experience with automation tools and CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, CircleCI).

•             Incident Management: Strong problem-solving skills and experience with incident management and root cause analysis.

•             Performance Tuning: Knowledge of performance tuning and optimization techniques for various systems and applications.

•             Collaboration and Communication: Excellent collaboration and communication skills. Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

•             Documentation: Strong documentation skills. Ability to create clear and concise technical documentation.

Job Qualifications (Preferred Skills)

•             Understanding of AWS and/Or Azure cloud platforms.

•             Understanding of application monitoring tools and technologies.

•             Ability to quickly develop prototypes and proof of concepts.

•             Must be an Australian Citizen, and a security clearance is desirable.
