Software Engineering professionals work across the Service Delivery Lifecycle to analyse, design, build, test, implement and/or maintain multiple system components or applications for Accenture or our clients.  

 

Role Requirements:

  • Applicants must have residency in Australia for minimum 3 years or should be an Australian Citizen.

Key responsibilities:

 

Documentation : 

  • A strong understanding of Performance Engineering activities across the Delivery Life Cycle
  • Work with various projects to identify Non Functional Requirements
  • Work with Business, IT and project teams to design relevant Workload Models
  • Responsible for documenting and sign off of overall Performance Testing Strategy
  • Responsible for documenting and sign off of the Workload Models
  • Responsible for documenting and sign off of the Performance Testing Report
  • Responsible for presenting detailed technical and summary Performance Testing reports to IT and Business

Testing :

  • Be responsible for the End to End Performance Testing process
  • Design, build and maintain performance testing scripts using Performance Testing tools Load Runner & Jmeter
  • Execute Performance Tests, Work with Development and Support teams on identifying opportunity for tuning using Diagnostics, Monitoring and Profiling tools.
  • Analyse test results using available tools and if necessary write new scripts to enhance the tools
  • Visualize performance metrics from different systems using open source or commercial visualization tools and present Performance Testing results in a non-technical jargon.

Defect Management :

  • Be responsible for overall Defect Management and Tracking for all Performance/Scalability related defects
  • Raise Performance/Scalability related defects using the Defect Management tool
  • Work with design, build and systems teams to prioritize defects and assign relevant levels of priority working with PMO
  • Work closely with development and systems teams to track defects
  • Schedule tests to validate defect fixes.
  • Provide management an overview of the current state of Performance/Scalability related defects.

Reporting :

  • Provide management an overview of the overall progress on Performance Testing
  • Track performance testing effort and raise risks, issues as they arise
  • Provide management insight into impacts to performance testing effort due to other issues that have impacted the Performance Testing work stream
  • Responsible for working with management and providing forecasts for remaining performance testing effort

Monitoring, Diagnostics, Tuning & Optimization:

  • Work closely with the Application Development teams and Systems Deployment/Management teams on identifying relevant systems metrics for monitoring
  • Work closely with architects and developers on profiling Java / .Net applications with the objective of identifying bottlenecks across the stack
  • Work closely with system support teams on extracting, analysing and visualizing system and application performance metrics 
  • Work closely with the architecture and design teams on identifying areas of optimization across the system.
  • Work with Development and Support teams on analysing performance of complex systems (web server, application server, transaction management server, database etc.)
  • Be responsible for identifying Identify performance bottlenecks (at application, database and OS layers) and support performance tuning exercises.

Preferred experience:

 

Must Have :

  • 5+ years of working with Load Runner performance testing large scale commercial multi-tier applications
  • Preferred but not mandatory : 3+ years working on Diagnostics tools i.e. Dynatrace, AppDynamics, New Relic, etc. Ability to use diagnostics tools to identify code bottlenecks across Java/.Net applications
  • 5+ years of working with large scale applications including distributed systems, multi-tier applications, and APIs
  • Ability to work with other teams on problem isolation, pinpointing bottlenecks and work with development/systems teams on finding solutions
  • Broad experience with multiple middleware and data store technologies
  • Broad experience working with message queues, databases, (relational & non-relational), caching technologies and stream processing
  • Strong proven performance analytical skills
  • Strong proven problem solving skills
  • Experience of performance testing of mobile applications

Good To Have :

  • Experience with Jmeter for Performance Testing of Enterprise Applications
  • Understanding of APM (Application Performance Management) and NPM (Network Performance Management) tools
  • Understanding of Performance Modelling approaches
  • Understanding of Capacity Management approaches
  • Experience with database query optimization and performance analysis of databases (Oracle, SqlServer)
  • Agile process and deliverables
