I am a technology consulting analyst based in Melbourne. I completed my master of science in chemistry and bachelor of science in chemistry and biotechnology from the University of Melbourne. Beyond work, I enjoy ultra distance running and play soccer competitively. I love traveling, coffee and eating out with friends.
Before joining Accenture in March 2016, I had not heard much about the company. I only knew its general presence and that it is in the consulting business. I decided to join Accenture as a graduate when I found out about the variety of experiences that were available, the fundamental core values that Accenture adheres to, and the excellent training opportunities it provides. Accenture seemed like a great place for my entry into the business world.
I was lucky to head to Malaysia for two weeks of training, which gave me a great introduction to the Accenture way of working. It was the perfect opportunity to learn and network with colleagues from different cultures and countries.
In my current role as a business function designer with the Single Touch Payroll project in Melbourne, I am part of a design team focusing on high-level design, detailed design and support. My role involves user interface and experience design for the websites/apps that the client and their customers will use. While I’ve been given lots of responsibilities right from the beginning, I was given room to develop and learn quickly. This makes Accenture different from other graduate programs. The company invests so much in you, and therefore, you want to return this trust.
Accenture provides a great working environment. The company is fast-paced and intense, but also rewarding and nurturing. I have found Accenture’s hands-on approach to learning very useful, and my responsibilities have allowed me to develop both personally and professionally. While I now spend most of my time out at a client site, I still make it a point to attend Accenture activities and training.
If asked whether I would recommend Accenture to friends, I would say, “Definitely, and I already have!”
