The Global Services Legal - Industry Practices Legal team is seeking to appoint an Industry Counsel to act as a Global Industry Practices Sector Legal Counsel Manager for the Industry Sectors as assigned by the Global Industry Legal Lead The role will serve as a strategic business advisor to senior business stakeholders, and product counsel to asset and software engineers and developers.  In-house and private practice candidates will all be considered, but experience of working with international teams in support of a global professional services and technology business is a pre-requisite, and candidates with deep industry experience will be strongly preferred. 

 

Key Responsibilities 

You will act as a trusted adviser to the Global Industry Practices Sector Leadership Teams, enabling the sustainable growth of each applicable Industry Sector while managing and mitigating risks.  You will collaborate with senior stakeholders across Legal and other Corporate Functions to:  

·                Bring legal support in the evaluation of new, strategic priorities and higher risk offerings and services across Industry Sectors. In doing so you will evaluate risks and develop mitigation strategies in collaboration with all relevant parts of Accenture, including for example Government Relations, Regulatory & Compliance, Responsible Business, Litigation (as needed), creating global guidance/guardrails to support the sustainable growth of the Industry Sectors; 

 

·                Assess both existing and new products and services offerings and guide them to market in a legally compliant manner, with appropriate risk mitigations (contractual, operational, technical); 

 

·                Collaborate with other teams and participate in initiatives to create frameworks related to cutting edge, cross-industry topics that address technology, ethics, human rights, legal and societal issues; 

 

·                Support the with the development of Thought Leadership; 

 

·                Provide strategic legal advice to Business Leadership to support their growth agenda and bring in the relevant parts of Legal to support the applicable Global Industry Sector Leadership Teams; and 

 

·                Help evaluate prospective acquisition targets on behalf of the applicable Global Industry Sector Leadership Teams, and work with them to support post-merger integration strategies. 

Requisitos

Qualifications 

·                JD degree or equivalent degree or legal qualification.  

 

·                Admitted, or eligible to be admitted, to the bar (or local equivalent) and in good standing or otherwise authorized to practice law. 

 

·                6+ years legal experience of relevant work in a corporate or law firm setting.

 

·                Strong commercial, technology, IP and data privacy experience and broad legal knowledge (e.g. spanning product development, manufacturing, litigation, corporate law and governance). 

 

·                Familiarity with professional services; including consulting, business operations and technology services.

o        Excellent and effective written and verbal communicators with experience briefing senior executives;

o        Flexible to work global hours where necessary; and 

o        Highly proficient at speaking and drafting in English. 

 

 

·                Candidates should have a strong understanding of core legal issues related to the Global Industry Sectors, including: 

o        Trends impacting those industries such as digital tools, AI and embedded software, use of data and new technologies, new connectivity options, advances in personalized/autonomous transportation and delivery capabilities, the use of digital twins to reimagine processes, and supply chain constraints; 

o        Legal issues related to bringing new assets and offerings to market in a legally compliant manner, including offerings utilizing machine learning and third-party data; and 

·                Candidates should ideally also have experience in/awareness of: 

o        Developing trusted relationships with senior Business Leaders; 

o        Strategic legal counselling of Business Leadership in respect of taking new products and service offerings to market in the Industry Sectors; 

o        Designing risk mitigation strategies, including identifying operational, technical, and contractual mitigations 

o        Common business processes in the applicable Industry space, such as product security and secure development lifecycle processes, quality assurance, safety and regulatory compliance processes, asset performance management, global trade compliance, sourcing, procurement, and supply chain risk management, including counterfeit mitigation, and global logistics and logistics security; 

o        Software development processes and software licensing, both inbound and outbound; 

o        Deal shaping and evaluation of innovative commercial models for new product and service offerings; and 

o        Interacting with or participating in trade associations or industry standards groups.
