Job Description
Data Engineer
       Main Responsibilities
• Selecting and integrating any Big Data tools and frameworks required to provide requested capabilities around data munging/data wrangling.
• Responsible for implementing ETL (Extract, Transform and Load) processes.
• Familiarity with Data Warehousing Architecture.
• Manage and Monitor Hadoop clusters using Ambari.
• Experience with integration of data from multiple data sources.
      Ad Hoc Reporting and Data Analysis
• Ad hoc high level data analysis to support leadership initiatives.
      Knowledge and Data Management
• Develop and maintain the ADM documentation site for the “Ecosystem and Ventures Analytics” team.
• Develop and maintain analytic warehouse/database.
Data Scientist
       Main Responsibilities
• Knowledge in  ETL (Extract, Transform and Load) processes.
• Perform exploratory data analysis (EDA) on a variety of data sets to establish initial hypothesis.
• Perform feature engineering based on client/subject matter expert’s feedback.
• Train and test predictive models (Logistic Regression, CART, KNN, etc.) for ad-hoc analytics campaigns.
• Familiarity with clustering methods (hierarchical and k-means clustering).
• Build reports to communicate results at an executive level.
• Build reproducible research documents.
• Work with leadership to challenge results.
• Communicate analytics results.
• Estimate and assess efforts required to complete new projects/initiatives.
• Track progress and milestones of open projects.
             • Communicate progress to relevant stakeholders.
Basic Qualifications
•  University degree
•  Advanced English level
Type of experience
Four year BA/BS degree on a quantitative field (preferably Statistics or Computer Science) or equivalent work experience
Data Engineer:
• Experience with Talend
• Database architecture and modeling.
• Hadoop-based technologies such as Pig, Hive, and Impala.
• SQL and NoSQL technologies.
• Basic knowledge of Unix/Linux.
Data Scientist:
• Expertise on a programming language (preferably Python).
• Expertise using a statistical scripting language such as R, or knowledge of statistical libraries from other languages (e.g Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn).
• +1 year professional experience in machine learning (supervised and unsupervised).
• Knowledge on a database language (SQL, Transact SQL, etc).
• Knowledge on data visualization tools/frameworks (i.e: Tableau, D3.js) is a plus.
Applicable to both roles
• Excellent oral and written communications skills in English language.
• Team building, coaching and training delivery.
• Problem solving and root cause analysis.
•  Confidence and poise in interactions with senior executives.
• Highly proficient in Microsoft applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, IE, Outlook).
• Understanding of basic finance concepts for a services company.
