In a radical departure from business as usual, nonprofit leaders are transforming their organizations. How have these leaders succeeded in creating sustained positive change? What are the critical success factors in leading radical change? How did they get the timing of change right? In answering these questions, this paper offers insights and best practices drawn from a discussion by a panel of nonprofit CEOs organized by Accenture and the Independent Sector recently to help nonprofit leaders continue to advance the sector.
Background
Nonprofit leaders have shown that despite enormous challenges in the current environment of diminishing funds, nonprofit CEOs still have the opportunities to individually or collectively create positive impact in the way the world lives and works. These leaders are creating new models to meet the increasing needs of those they serve amid constraints of money, time and talent. In building these models and successfully communicating the need for radical change, these leaders show the way for transformation in this sector.
