The Accenture Labs 2014 Annual Report highlights outstanding achievements and critical work from our Labs which will continue to help the world’s leading companies become digital businesses over the coming years.

One of our key focus areas, for example, is the Industrial Internet of Things. Highly sensate products collect and share information about how they are being used and their environment. Manufacturers can use this information to provide smart services to optimize products, diagnose and predict potential issues or provide insight on how to build better products and services.

Accenture Labs provides insights into key emerging technologies that offer great promise for enterprises to reach new levels of performance.

The 2014 report is part of Accenture Labs’ strategic plan to increase our alignment across Accenture’s five operating groups. Today, Labs boasts five R&D groups that mesh seamlessly with Accenture’s technology strategy—Data Insights, Digital Experiences, Infrastructure & Systems, Security and Software Engineering.

Labs also created Accenture Open Innovation, which taps into the global innovation ecosystem and brings insights from corporate R&D, universities, startups and venture capitalists to Accenture and its clients.
