Public Sector for the Future Summit at Harvard University

The 2016 Public Sector for the Future Summit will be held on June 14 to 16, at Harvard University, Cambridge, MA.

OVERVIEW

The Public Sector for the Future Summit assembles the senior-most leaders in public sector to discuss strategies for government transformation and the leadership skills needed to deliver public service for the future. The event will further explore the focus of citizen-centric government, emphasizing the development of dynamic leadership abilities, to set a vision for the future.

The Summit will not only help participants learn about and implement near-term innovations, but also develop long-term solutions. This conference focuses on the leadership strategies needed to deliver a more efficient, effective and responsive government, while leveraging the Public Sector Uptake and Edge Matrix. This organizing framework can help leaders as they negotiate transformational change. By plotting enterprise-wide change efforts, leaders can better assess how quickly or slowly to enact changes, how broadly or narrowly to implement changes, and if transformations will be more successful if they are positioned as “top down” or “bottom-up” efforts.

The 2015 Public Sector for the Future Summit convened June 2-4, 2015 at Harvard University, and provided a forum for “Chief Transformation Officers” to comprehensively address both the heightened public demands placed on governments and the growing need for government transformation.

“The distance between what our society expects and what our governments are able to deliver is widening—and that creates a legitimacy gap.”
