After completing a masters degree in engineering at Stellenbosch, Stephan Kornelius joined Accenture in 1999, and has worked for the company ever since. He spent three years working on an industry restructuring project for an electricity utility, focusing on regulatory strategy and financial modelling, a field in which he specialises.
For the past two years, he has worked on a corporate transformation project for a chemicals and energy industry key player. He is responsible not only for much of the management consulting work for the holding company client, but is also involved in projects at a number of the company’s production business units.
“Oil and gas companies face a number of challenges at present, among them the volatility in the commodities markets, environmental and sustainability issues, the need for global expansion and partnering, and cost management to deliver shareholder value,” Kornelius notes. “Accenture has a comprehensive suite of services to offer in each of those areas, ranging from sustainability strategy to corporate cost reduction and shared services. As a global company, we know from the inside what it takes to succeed on the global stage.”
He is married and spends his spare time reading, playing golf and in his home workshop.
