Managing Director—Retail, Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Latin America (EALA)
Adrian Bertschinger is the lead for Accenture's Retail industry in Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Latin America (EALA). He is responsible for retail business planning, industry development, investments and market strategy. Bertschinger joined Accenture in South Africa in 1992 and has extensive retail industry, supply chain, ERP implementation, application management and business process outsourcing experience. In addition to the time he has spent in South Africa, Bertschinger has worked in the Middle East, Nigeria, Kenya, Ghana and France. He qualified as a civil engineer at the University of Cape Town and also has a degree in commerce.

Managing Director—Technology, South Africa
André Nel is a managing director within Accenture’s Technology practice. In his current role, he is responsible for leading technology engagements, specifically system integration and outsourcing projects, across industries including public services, health, communications, products and financial services. Nel joined Accenture in 1995 and has significant understanding of the delivery challenges and key client insights on major technology and outsourcing programmes. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree with majors in Computer Science and Financial Accounting from the University of Stellenbosch.

Managing Director—Technology, South Africa
Bavini Naidoo is a managing director within Accenture South Africa’s Technology group. In this role, she heads up its SAP Human Capital Management capability in the resources sector, responsible for helping many of the country’s mining houses solve pressing human resources (HR) challenges—critical in today’s charged labour environment. She is also currently leading the HR implementation for a major gold-mining company. Before assuming her current role, Naidoo fulfilled a range of technical and management consulting roles within Accenture, gaining valuable experience. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and Mathematics.

Brett Grobbelaar
Managing Director—Resources, South Africa
Brett Grobbelaar is a managing director within Accenture’s Resources operating group. In this role, he focuses predominantly on the natural resources and utilities markets, with overall responsibility for chemicals and natural resources in South Africa. A specialist in large systems transformation programmes, Grobbelaar joined Accenture in 1995 and has during his time with the company worked with many of South Africa’s most prominent mining companies. He has a Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Witwatersrand University and as well experience as a consultant engineer.

Cameron Tandy is a managing director within Accenture’s Technology Consulting group, with special responsibility for clients in the mining, power utilities, oil and chemicals sectors, as well as municipalities. He joined Accenture in 1999 and has worked with clients in South Africa, the Netherlands, Botswana and Mauritius. He has been involved in some of South Africa’s largest and most complex SAP implementations, in addition to leading numerous innovative technology deployments in the mining industry in support of shared services and supply chain operations. Tandy is currently the programme lead for a global SAP implementation underway at a gold-mining company. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering as well as a Master of Business Administration from the Wits Business School.

Chris Ruscoe
Managing Director—Technology, South Africa
Chris Ruscoe is a managing director working in the Technology group at Accenture South Africa. In this role, he is responsible for helping financial services companies use technology more intelligently. He is currently managing the implementation of a large SAP project, assisting one of South Africa’s leading banks upgrade its core banking systems. He joined Accenture in 1996 and has led many large and complex SAP projects. Ruscoe holds a Bachelor of Science Honours degree with a major in Computer Science.

Christine Tandy is a managing director at Accenture responsible for the successful scoping and delivery of large-scale SAP projects in the utilities, mining, products and banking sectors. She is skilled at helping large companies position themselves for high performance by consolidating their systems into a single instance of SAP. Tandy joined Accenture in 1996 and has a Bachelor of Commerce degree, with an Honours degree in Information Systems from the University of the Witwatersrand.

Seoighe joined Accenture in 2000 and has over the years worked across industries largely in a business consulting capacity. He holds a Doctorate in Quantum Physics from Trinity College, Dublin.

Donovan Muller is managing director within Accenture South Africa’s Technology business with a strong focus on the resources industry. His focus areas are enterprise business solutions and customer relationship management, specifically in the mining, utilities and energy sectors. Muller joined Accenture in 1988 and has, over the years, worked extensively on the design, implementation and deployment of large, complex business solutions. He is a Chemical Engineer from the University of Cape Town and has a Master of Science in Energy Studies.

In this role, he has led a number of large business transformation programmes and has a wide array of functional, technical and management experience. Smit’s key areas of expertise include operating model transformation, organisation design and operational improvement, shared services, supply chain transformation, strategic sourcing, as well as systems integration and SAP programmes. He joined Accenture in 1996 and in his 17-year consulting career led numerous initiatives across a variety of asset-intensive industries. Smit holds a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering from the University of Pretoria, a postgraduate diploma in Marketing from the University of South Africa and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Stellenbosch.

Edna Eason is a managing director within Accenture’s Technology area and leads the technology work done in Health and Public Service. In this role she is responsible for Accenture’s focus across all three tiers of government as well as the health industry, both public and private. Eason’s focus is on the delivery of large-scale transformation programmes, with experience across the system development lifecycle across varied technologies. She joined Accenture in 1994 and has also consulted to the financial services industry. Eliseo Belmonte is a managing director within Accenture South Africa’s Technology business and the SAP lead for Africa. In this role, he is responsible for SAP capability growth and business development. A SAP specialist in finance and business intelligence, Belmonte joined Accenture in 1990 and over the years has been involved in some of the largest SAP global implementations across the United States, Latin America, Asia, and Europe. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Universitat Politecnica Barcelona and undertook postgraduate studies in Business Administration at IESE.

Etienne Steyn is a managing director within Accenture South Africa’s Technology business. He joined Accenture in 2006 and, during his time with Accenture, he has focused on the implementation of large and complex SAP implementations for clients across multiple sectors. He currently works in the mining industry. Steyn holds a Master of Commerce from the University of Johannesburg.

Managing Director—Communications, Media and Technology, Africa
Fernando Usera leads Accenture’s Communications, Media and Technology practice in Africa. In his 17-year career, he has worked in the telecommunications industry in his native Spain, Italy, Morocco, and Latin America. For the past 10 years he has focused on the dynamics of emerging markets, and his experience spans key areas such as strategy, market analysis, programme management, client relationship management, marketing and sales, product development and mobility solutions. Usera joined Accenture in 1987 and holds a degree in Science and a Master of Business Administration from the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid and IESE, respectively.

Gary Chenik is a managing director within Accenture South Africa’s Resources industry. Chenik has extensive resourcing and supply chain experience in the mining, utilities and petro chemical industries, and global and local billing systems experience. He currently leads an information management project for the South African division of a major global mining house. Chenik joined Accenture in 1999, and holds a Bachelor of Science majoring in Electrical Engineering from the University of the Witwatersrand.

Hayley Walters is a member of the Accenture Management Consulting leadership team in South Africa, with specific responsibility for the Operations and Sourcing & Procurement areas. She joined Accenture in 2006 and has experience in many industries, her main focus being in retail and consumer goods, energy, mining and utilities. She also has extensive experience in the field of strategic sourcing, procurement and integrated supply chain management and was integral in the establishment of Accenture Procurement Business Process Outsourcing unit. Walters holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) degree.

Ilan Sparrius is a managing director within the Products operating group for Accenture South Africa. She focuses on the retail sector and, since she joined Accenture in 2005, has worked on a range of projects for one of the company’s largest retail clients. She is currently working on one of the world’s largest planning and replenishment projects for the same client. Prior to her involvement in the retail sector, Sparrius worked as a production manager for a leading manufacturer of consumer goods. She graduated from the University of Stellenbosch with a Bachelor of Engineering in Industrial Engineering.

Jan Bouwer is a managing director within Accenture’s Health & Public Service operating group and is responsible for its Operations & Management business in South Africa. Bouwer has significant experience in developing and delivering major transformational programmes at national government departments. Joaquin Laynez is a managing director at Accenture South Africa, with a mandate to develop its outsourcing business, predominantly in the financial services sector. He joined Accenture in 1997 and during his time with the company has had the opportunity to work on many significant client initiatives spanning application, infrastructure and business process outsourcing, in many different configurations (bundled or standalone) and delivery mechanisms (one-to-one or one-to-many services contract, single client joint companies, go to market joint ventures). He holds a degree in Business Administration and Economics from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid, and undertook postgraduate studies in International Trade at the Catholic Institute of Business Administration.

John Watling is a part of the business development and delivery team in Accenture South Africa's Resources operating group. He recently created and helped implement an innovative consulting, technology and outsourcing deal with the South African division of a major global mining house. He has also worked with clients to explore how Accenture can team with them to increase shareholder value. Watling joined Accenture in 2006 and holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting from the University of KwaZulu-Natal, and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Cape Town and the Anderson Business School.

Ken Robinson is a managing director within Accenture’s South African Resources operating group, specialising in finance and strategy. For the past 18 years, he has worked largely at Eskom and also has project responsibilities in oil and chemicals, mining, financial services and the retail industry. Robinson has been involved in many of the major strategic challenges of the electricity industry, including future scenarios in the industry structure involving Eskom, municipalities and independent power producers. He also played a key role in Eskom’s transformation of processes, human performance and technology. Robinson is a former President of the Institute of Management Consultants of South Africa.

He has been with Accenture for 16 years working across industries, helping governments and organisations transform their businesses through the use of technology. His extensive experience includes the delivery of large scale complex technology projects, business model transformations, as well as the development of value realisation strategies. His current focus is on helping organisations navigate the challenges and opportunities presented by emerging technologies, transforming their businesses to be relevant in an ever changing and increasingly digital world. Naik qualified from the University of Kwa-Zulu Natal with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and Applied Mathematics.

Livingstone Chilwane leads the Health & Public Service operating group for Accenture South Africa. He assumed this role when he rejoined Accenture in 2012. Most recently, he has held senior positions at Diebold South Africa (Managing Executive), Gijima AST, SAP and the Gauteng Shared Services Centre. Chilwane holds a Bachelor of Science (Honours) and a Master of Commerce in Information Systems.

He also worked as a trader in futures and options markets. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in International Business and Finance, a Master of Business Administration (with majors in International Business and Finance) and has completed International Business studies at Harvard University.

Mariano Salmerón leads Accenture's strategic sourcing/supply chain business in the Spain, Portugal, Africa and Israel area for the Resources operating group, and is a managing director at Accenture South Africa. His areas of expertise include programme management, SAP, discrete and process manufacturing and supply chain management. Salmerón joined Accenture in 1994, and has worked internationally on several large transformational projects. He holds a Master's degree in Aeronautical Engineering from the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, and is certified in Production and Inventory Management by APICS, the association for operations management.

Mark Joseph is currently a Managing Director in Accenture’s Communications, Media and Technology operating group, responsible for one of South Africa’s largest mobile operator accounts. Joseph has extensive experience in the telecommunications industry over a fifteen year period, including the launching of a mobile operator, restructuring entities for efficiency, product management and market introduction, large scale transformation to improve efficiencies and reduce cost and a range of projects spanning strategy, process and technology. Joseph joined Accenture in 1997 and holds a BSc Honours, in Computational and Applied Mathematics.

Marlize Claasen is a managing director within Accenture's Technology business with responsibility for SAP systems integration. She currently leads solution development work at SABMiller. Mike Salvino is group chief executive of Accenture Operations. In this role, he oversees Accenture’s comprehensive portfolio of cross-industry (finance, HR, learning, marketing, procurement and supply chain) and industry-specific business process services (including credit services, health, life sciences, network and utilities). He leads a team of professionals charged with developing, selling and delivering differentiated, business process services fueled by technology and underpinned by analytics to drive tangible business outcomes for clients. Accenture Operations services are delivered through Accenture’s Global Delivery Network, which consists of more than 50 delivery centers across five continents. In addition, Mr. Salvino serves as a member of Accenture’s Global Management Committee and Capital Committee.

Mike Rogers is a managing director within Accenture's Technology business in South Africa. He is responsible for Accenture’s Advanced Systems & Technology practice, which focuses on building complex technology solutions, encompassing cloud, mobility and technology architectures. He joined Accenture in 1997, and has helped many clients maximise the value of their IT investments through aligning IT Strategies and architectures to business goals and objectives. An Accenture-certified Master Technical Architect, his experience in application architecture includes large scale SAP system implementations as well as the design and build of custom solutions and the integration of enterprise applications. He holds a Bachelor of Business Science (Honours) in Information Systems.

Nicolas Zentelis is a managing director in Accenture’s South Africa’s Technology business. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering and a Master of Science in Biomedical Engineering, both from the University of Cape Town. He is also a graduate of Kellogg’s Advanced Business Management programme.

Wendy Pienaar is a managing director within Accenture South Africa's Financial Services operating group, with a particular focus on the banking sector. Her responsibilities include managing Accenture’s relationship with its banking clients. She joined Accenture in 1995 and has specialised in helping clients develop effective strategies, particularly relating to clients. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Industrial Psychology and Sociology, a Postgraduate Diploma in Management in Business Administration and a Master of Business Administration.

Chief Executive Officer—Accenture South Africa
William Mzimba is the chief executive of Accenture South Africa, a position he assumed in 2006. Before joining Accenture, Mzimba helped set up and run a number of businesses in the information and communication technology sector, gaining invaluable experience in various industries, including government, utilities, manufacturing, insurance, information technology and telecommunications. His particular interest is the development and implementation of business strategies, and operational transformation through the use of technology. His qualifications include a Diploma in Datametrics/ Computer Science from the University of South Africa, a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Business Studies from De Montfort University, a Master of Business Administration from Bond University, and the Management Advancement Certificate from Wits Business School.

Willie Schoeman
Managing Director—Technology, South Africa
Willie Schoeman leads Accenture South Africa’s Technology business which spans systems integration, technology consulting, application outsourcing and infrastructure outsourcing work. He is also actively involved in finding “fit for purpose” solutions, and leveraging the latest technologies including cloud, mobility and analytics for clients. Schoeman joined Accenture in 1992. His experience includes building and deploying technology systems for a wide range of clients; he also helped launch Avanade in South Africa. Avanade is a global joint venture between Microsoft and Accenture. He holds a Bachelor’s degree with majors in Computer Science and Mathematical Statistics from the University of Pretoria.
