His key areas of expertise include customer relationship management, supply chain management, strategy and business architecture design, and revenue and customs.
In the last five years, de Witt has been responsible for and involved in various initiatives at the South African Revenue Service (SARS). These include the implementation of the National Call Centre, the Single View of the Taxpayer implementation and the SARS 2010 Vision.
De Witt joined Accenture in 1996, just after he completed his honours degree in industrial engineering at the University of Pretoria.
He was lured by the company's impressive brand and core values, which he learnt about at an Accenture campus open day.
His first project was the implementation of the Provisioning Administration System for the South African Police Service's logistics division. He has also worked on various other clients including the National Treasury, State Information Technology Agency, South African Post Office, Department of Trade and Industry and the University of South Africa: Graduate School of Business Leadership.
De Witt says Accenture is making a meaningful difference to South Africa and attributes this to its talented people.
Accenture's solutions, according to de Witt, place the South African government on the world map because they are globally recognised. He makes special reference to the call centre solution that was implemented at SARS. The system has significantly improved SARS' customer relationship management, offering a shared cost telephone number that can be accessed from anywhere in the country, decreasing the costs to the taxpayer and increasing access to the organisation. The solution has enabled the tracking of interactions and the facilitation of internal processes, greatly enhancing the citizens' experience and satisfaction.
De Witt believes commitment, a passion for helping clients to become high-performance organisations and a broader understanding of the Accenture business model are some of the prerequisites needed to make a successful career at the company.
He was born in Pretoria in 1971 and credits his parents as a great source of inspiration to his success. He greatly respects Accenture's leadership and received invaluable guidance from C-level leadership by attending Accenture's global Leadership Development Programme.
Apart from his demanding work responsibilities de Witt enjoys watching rugby and cricket and in 2000 ran the Comrades and Two-Ocean marathons. He says he finds it difficult to start his day without a cup of coffee and greeting his Koi fish. But above all, he enjoys the company of his wife Esti.
