During times of economic duress, it seems obvious that the role of the finance department, and especially the CFO, will expand in scope and become more critical to the organization at large. To confirm this hypothesis, Accenture Finance & Performance Management decided in late 2010 to undertake a survey of some 1,000 senior finance executives in eight countries around the world.
