A combined team of Accenture and 3 Italia professionals worked together to extend the capabilities of the existing open services architecture platform.
Using the flexible, scalable and convergent Accenture Service Delivery Platform—part of the Accenture Communications Solutions suite—Accenture helped 3 Italia create a wireless delivery center in just a few months. The delivery center has enabled the company to more rapidly create and deliver mobile value-added services, and then to manage and operate those services.
Accenture and 3 Italia created an innovative business model for the project, teaming to deliver and operate the center in a manner where both companies shared risks and rewards.
The new wireless delivery center at 3 Italia supports design, build, integration and business process outsourcing activities according to multiple service models. The center enables the creation and delivery of a variety of innovative third-generation (3G) services targeting different customer segments.
The wireless delivery center provides a full business process outsourcing capability. It supports the entire life cycle for new mobile products and services, from idea to production. The capabilities of the center reduce integration complexity and provide access to a variety of enabling functionalities such as profiling management capabilities, as well as monitoring of application usage, with dedicated reporting and accounting.
Content providers do not have to see the complexity behind the center, but can readily access the service delivery platform through a portal, which offers predefined processes and ready-to-use application programming interfaces. In this way customers can create and integrate their own solutions and services in a very short time.
