It is a privilege for me to be writing to you, our Outlook readers, as the new CEO of Accenture. I thought I would take this opportunity to introduce myself and say a few words about the company’s direction, and our commitment to helping our clients achieve high performance.
First, let me say that I am very proud to be leading Accenture. I've spent my entire career with our company. Over the years, I've held a variety of roles, getting to know many of our clients around the world and learning the business from the ground up.

I've been part of our senior management team for the past decade. It's also been my great privilege to work closely with Accenture's men and women, who truly make this company special. I've always believed that the company with the best people wins. We have an outstanding global team ready to serve our clients and help them drive to higher performance.
As I've transitioned into my new role these past few months, I've been meeting with as many of our people across the globe as I can. I've observed firsthand that they are engaged and ready to step up and shape the future of our company—to take our business to the next level of performance. I've also been speaking with our clients about the concept of high performance. I've found that our focus on business outcomes, in particular, really resonates with client executives. It's even more relevant in an environment of economic recovery, as leaders consider new strategies to innovate and differentiate. So it has been an exhilarating few months. I'm grateful for having had the opportunity to engage with our men and women and our clients, and to gain new perspectives. I'm energized about what's ahead for Accenture.
There's no doubt in my mind that we have the right business strategy, and that we have demonstrated our ability to execute it. We will remain focused on management consulting, deep technology skills and systems integration, and outsourcing. With more momentum in our business, we can also really sharpen our innovation agenda and our ability to take powerful new ideas to our clients. My top priorities are to continue driving this focus on high performance and energizing our workforce. We are committed to helping our clients achieve their very best potential and, not surprisingly, to delivering results as a high-performance business ourselves.
We've developed quite a story since we introduced our High Performance Business initiative a year ago. We continue to take new insights to clients as the research unfolds. In the pages that follow, you can read about our latest findings. I look forward to bringing you updates in future issues of Outlook.
This is an adventurous time to be in business and government as we continue to see signs of economic recovery. On behalf of the 100,000 people of Accenture, I can tell you we stand side by side with our clients on this journey to high performance—and we're fully prepared to enjoy the ride.
