Managing Director – Accenture Strategy
Mark Spelman is a managing director within Accenture Strategy and has global responsibility for thought leadership in Accenture. Mr. Spelman is focused on developing the organization’s strategic relationship with the World Economic Forum and is a member of the World Economic Forum (WEF) Global Agenda Council on Europe and a member of WEF’s Advisory Board on Sustainability and Competitiveness. He is also vice chairman of the American Chamber of Commerce Executive Council based in Brussels, having previously acted as Chairman between 2007 and 2010.
Mr. Spelman has more than 20 years of experience working for Accenture in senior management and business strategy positions. In the last 10 years he has worked with the boards of major corporations on large-scale transformational change programs across multiple business units and geographies. He also works with multinationals and non-profit organizations on the growth and restructuring of their global operations.
Mr. Spelman is recognized as a leading global authority on issues such as energy, emerging markets, innovation and sustainability. He is frequently represented in broadcast and news media, such as BBC News programs and tier one publications including the Financial Times and The Economist.
Mr. Spelman is actively involved in Accenture research programs—recent topics include globalization, emerging market growth, innovation and entrepreneurship. Mr. Spelman has authored many research studies including the multi-polar world series (now in its seventh year), “Energizing Global Growth—Understanding the Changing Consumer” and “Remaking Customer Markets: Unlocking Growth with Digital”.
Mr. Spelman Mark has an MA in Economics from Cambridge University and a Master of Business Administration from INSEAD. He is based in London, United Kingdom.
