He has more than 20 years of experience in technology leadership in the Financial Services Industry, with significant experience in driving major business change.
Most recently, Gavin was the Retail Technology Director, Lloyds Banking Group and was a member of the Retail Bank Board. Prior to this role, he served as CIO of Lloyds TSB – UK Retail Banking & General Insurance. In this capacity, Gavin set the information technology strategy and direction for growing the UK Retail Banking Division and drove strong collaboration and alignment of technology with the business. Gavin initially joined Lloyds TBS in October 2006 as the Chief Technology Officer for Group IT, where he established the enterprise architecture discipline and led the effort to simplify business and technology architectures.

Given the success of these efforts, the team became the trusted source of technical vision and direction within the business and technical community, a key enabler to maximize the business benefits realized from the IT portfolio.
Prior to joining Lloyds TSB, Gavin was the General Manager, Strategy and Architecture at National Australia Bank Group in Sydney, Australia. He led the effort to develop a long-term technology blueprint and delivered a new technology operating model that rationalized the technology organization and drove closer alignment of technology with the business. Previously, Gavin was a partner with IBM Business Consulting Services, and was responsible for IBM’s Multi-channel/Branch Transformation Practice in Australia.
