Kay Kapoor serves as the chief executive of Accenture’s US Federal Practice and leads the business that serves every cabinet-level department and 20 of the largest federal organizations. The US federal portfolio spans across clients in civilian, defense, intelligence and public safety agencies, including the U.S. Department of Defense, U.S. Department of State, U.S. Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, U.S. Department of Education, U.S. Department of Treasury, U.S. Postal Service, U.S. Army, U.S. Air Force, U.S. Navy, U.S. Marines and the Defense Logistics Agency. |
Kay joined Accenture in 2011. She has 25 years of experience serving the federal government through her work for prominent federal contractors in IT services, consulting and defense area, including 20 years at Lockheed Martin, where she served as vice president and deputy of the company’s federal civilian business; she also served as vice president and general manager of ITT’s Advance Information Systems just prior to joining Accenture.
Kay is active in industry associations, including the American Council for Technology/Industry Advisory Council, TechAmerica, the Society of Women Engineers and Women in Technology. Federal Computer Week named her one of the “2010 Federal 100,” which recognizes the achievements of professionals in the Washington, D.C. government IT community.
With a master’s degree in business management from Johns Hopkins University, Kay also has a bachelor’s degree in information systems from the University of Maryland.
Ed Meehan
Managing Director, US Federal Civilian Portfolio

Ed Meehan is responsible for Accenture's support to US federal civilian agencies. Ed began his career with Accenture in 1990 and spent the first part of his career defining and delivering business transformation solutions for clients in the transportation, travel services and financial services industries. He brings this extensive commercial insight and experience to his work with US federal clients. Since joining Accenture's federal business in 2002, he has helped establish Accenture’s sales capability, formalizing and expanding Accenture’s base of sales expertise and promoting the evolution and adoption of sales-process best practices. Formerly the Managing Director, US Federal Sales, he has expertise managing the sales and pipeline of a segment of Accenture's business valued in excess of $1 billion.

John Goodman
Managing Director, US Defense Portfolio

John Goodman is responsible for Accenture’s support to the Department of Defense and intelligence agencies.
Previously, Mr. Goodman worked with the Office of the Secretary of Defense, defense agencies and combatant commands to improve readiness and operational performance. He also was the Management Consulting growth platform lead for Accenture's Health and Public Service operating group.
Prior to joining Accenture in 1998, Mr. Goodman was Deputy Under Secretary of Defense (Industrial Affairs & Installations), Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense, Senior Director on the staff of the National Economic Council in the White House and an associate professor at the Harvard Business School. |
Mr. Goodman currently serves as the Chairman of the Defense Business Board, a federal advisory committee that supports defense transformation by offering management advice to the Secretary of Defense based on leading practices from the private sector. He is also a member of the advisory board of Our Military Kids, a nonprofit organization devoted to supporting the children of deployed members of the National Guard and Reserves; the Board of Trustees of the Sheridan School; and the Council on Foreign Relations.
Mr. Goodman received his B.A. summa cum laude from Middlebury College and his M.A. and Ph.D. degrees from Harvard University.
John Matchette
Managing Director, US Public Safety Portfolio

John Matchette leads Accenture’s work in helping law enforcement and first-response agencies achieve strategic and operational goals for critical public safety objectives. His portfolio includes the U.S. Departments of State, Energy and Justice, the Transportation Security Agency, Environmental Protection Agency and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS), where he has led Accenture’s work since 2009.
Mr. Matchette joined Accenture in 1989, focusing his early career on supply chain excellence in the public and private sectors, working with clients that included DHS, U.S. Department of Defense, Home Depot, Motorola, HP, Oracle and Nike. He also has led Accenture’s global Supply Chain Planning and Global Supply Chain Technologies operating groups.
John earned a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Management, with concentrations in Computer Science and Industrial Engineering, from Purdue University. |
