Fortune magazine awarded Accenture the No. 92 spot on its 2012 100 Best Companies to Work For list—we debuted at No. 84 in 2009, ranked No. 97 in 2010 and No. 99 in 2011. It is a tremendous honor to be recognized as a leading employer of choice in the United States, and it clearly demonstrates that Accenture continues to shine as a high-performance company.
In recognizing Accenture, FORTUNE cited Accenture’s $600 million investment in training and development and the fact that five of the company’s top 23 officers are women. Among the many programs and initiatives Accenture provides its employees are:
- Training & Development: Accenture provides training throughout each employee’s career—onsite, online, in teams and via mobile learning—and employees can choose courses tailored to their individual skills, experience and areas of interest. For example, MyLearning, Accenture’s global online learning portal, offers more than 30,000 courses from core training to specialized functional and technical training.
- Caring for Families: Employees in the United States receive 40 hours of backup dependent care each year to help support and supervise aging parents, children, spouses or domestic partners. Additionally, Accenture’s Hours that Help program provides U.S. employees with additional paid time off hours through the donation of time by other employees. The program is intended to support individuals faced with family medical emergencies or related crisis situations that require time away from work beyond paid time off and paid leave-of-absence benefits.
- Corporate Citizenship: By 2015, Accenture’s corporate citizenship initiative—Skills to Succeed—will equip 250,000 people around the world with the skills to get a job or build a business. Accenture is driving measurable impact through long-term relationships with strategic partners that share the company’s skills-building goals. Today, there are more than 200 Skills to Succeed initiatives around the world, and Accenture employees are actively involved through both volunteering and giving efforts.
