Atlanta, Georgia

Nearly 400 Accenture people volunteered at Hands On Atlanta Day. Volunteers created mosaic tile tables, staffed a soccer tournament for disadvantaged children, partnered with the High Museum to educate children about the power of art to communicate ideas and values—and much more.

Chicago, Illinois

Accenture was the largest corporate participant in Chicago Cares Day. More than 400 volunteers restored community centers, revitalized parks with murals and new gardens and brought Chicago Public Schools to life with new paint and colorful landscaping.

Dallas, Texas

More than 100 Dallas Accenture people and their families braved the elements and learned new skills building a Habitat for Humanity house alongside our alliance partner SAP. Over seven days, volunteers built walls, set tresses, hung siding and decked the roof for a three-bedroom house.

Denver, Colorado

In October 2006, more than 150 Accenture people joined 66,000 others for the largest Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure event in the United States. In addition to participating in the race, our Denver people raised more than $5,000 for the Komen Foundation.

Houston, Texas

Founded by retired Accenture senior executive David Moore, Elves & More provides bikes and "treasure boxes" to children in low-income greater Houston neighborhoods. In 2006, volunteers—including Accenture people—put together 20,000 brand-new bikes and 5,000 gifts for infants and toddlers.

Los Angeles, California

More than 40 Southern California Accenture volunteers staffed a holiday festival for the young clients of Children's Institute, a Los Angeles program for abused and neglected children. Over 3,000 children and family members attended the event, which is sponsored annually by Accenture.

Minneapolis, Minnesota

Once every month since 2004, Accenture Technology Solutions people have volunteered their time to feed lunch to homeless people at the House of Charity in Minneapolis. In recognition of their dedication, the ATS Minneapolis Outreach Committee was an Accenture Volunteer Service Award winner in 2006.

New York, New York

As part of our sponsorship of the Accenture Physically Challenged National Triathlon Championship and the 2006 Nautica NYC Triathlon, Accenture and the Challenged Athletes Foundation held a multi-sports clinic for physically challenged athletes. Nearly 100 Accenture volunteers were on hand to help with the event.

Phoenix, Arizona

A little bottle can make a big difference. Accenture's Phoenix location holds an annual "Tiny Bottles" drive, collecting unused hotel soaps and shampoos for the New Day Center, a shelter for abused women and their children.

Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Our Philadelphia Gay and Lesbian Network helped The William Way Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Community Center create a comprehensive five-year technology plan. They also helped make the center's new community classroom wheelchair accessible and provided furniture and audio visual equipment.

Raleigh, North Carolina

Through the Accenture Government Volunteer Network's Coast-to-Coast initiative, Accenture people in Raleigh donated dozens of backpacks fully stocked with school supplies to children displaced by Gulf Coast hurricanes.

San Francisco, California

Accenture volunteers went "back to school" for a day at Indian Valley Elementary in Walnut Creek. They taught 20 elementary school classes totaling more than 390 students—for a full school day!—as part of Junior Achievement's Done in a Day Program.

Seattle, Washington

In May 2006, Accenture people continued our long partnership with Seattle Works, helping to restore a popular urban forest at the city's Colman Park. Afterwards, the mayor of Seattle celebrated with Accenture volunteers.

Washington, D.C.

Over 100 Accenture people from the Metro Washington office participated in the 2006 Junior Achievement Bowl-a-thon. Combined with a $5,000 corporate donation, Accenture and volunteers raised nearly $27,000, which helps fund Junior Achievement programs in Washington, D.C., Virginia and Maryland.
