In 2006, Accenture's commitment to diversity and inclusion was recognized by several national organizations.
The National Forum of Black Public Administrators named Accenture "Corporation of the Year."
The National Association of Minority and Women Owned Law Firms awarded Accenture an Annual Diversity Initiative Achievement Award.
Black MBA Magazine named Accenture one of the "Top 50 Companies for African Americans." |
Diversity Inc., a leading resource for professionals on diversity and benchmarking practices, named Accenture one of "25 Noteworthy Companies in Diversity."
Accenture is also committed to environmental responsibility. All toner cartridges and 15 percent of the office supplies Accenture purchases are recycled or manufactured from recycled materials. We have also developed a centrally managed US-wide program for shredding and recycling for all key US locations, and a recycling program for mobile devices, toner, laptops and MP3 players. In addition, Accenture ensures that new office build-outs are conscious of environmental impacts.
Another important focus is on our employees' ability to achieve the work/life balance they need to be successful in both their personal and professional lives. More than 90 percent of US employees have the flexibility to work at on a regular or occasional basis. This helps to reduce traffic congestion, provides other environmental benefits and helps our people effectively balance work and personal responsibilities. And in 2006, our innovative Backup Dependent Care program was rolled out to all US Accenture people, giving them access to affordable, reliable childcare or eldercare when their usual arrangements fall through unexpectedly.
