Thirteen years ago today, I nervously stepped onto an elevator to start my first real, full time job after college. I remember wearing my new, black INC suit and carrying my Coach briefcase, a splurge purchased with my signing bonus (and don’t laugh too hard at the briefcase – I joined before everyone got laptops!). I walked out of the elevator onto the 42nd floor of our old San Francisco office. It seems like just yesterday in many ways…but forever ago in others.
A rarity amongst my cohorts for having been at one company for my entire post-college career, I truly can’t imagine it any other way. I have been lucky enough to have had a handful of different ‘jobs’ within Accenture, and a few years in, I found a career in recruitment that I am passionate about. I have also been extremely fortunate to have exposure to excellent mentors and colleagues, as well as more learning opportunities and challenges that have helped me grow professionally in ways I didn’t think possible. I’ve met some of my best friends and a husband too, and had the flexibility to move three times and start my family. Thank you to Accenture for everything – we’ve been through a lot together and I look forward to the adventures that lie ahead in the next 13 years!!
