Shape up!
Published: Feb-27-12

Think your resume could use some shaping up? Want to get a quicker response to your resume submittal? Here are two quick tips!

1. Keep your resume concise and up to date. It was great that you used to swallow swords in college, but probably irrelevant to your job search today. Keep your work experience relevant to the past 10 years or so (for experienced level candidates). Make sure your resume highlights your current projects, team successes, and newer technologies you are currently working with.

2. The best way to get a quicker response to your resume from a recruiter is to be sure you are carefully reading the job description prior to applying, and making sure the role is something you are truly interested in. If the job description requires someone who has past experience leading a line dance at a client site, and you have only led a square dance, then it doesn’t sound like the best opportunity for you at this time. A job search that is focused is the best kind!

Here’s to shaping up in 2012!

Nicely presented information in this post, I prefer to read this kind of stuff. The quality of content is fine and the conclusion is excellent.
