Jobs, planning and summer fun
Published: Jul-14-11

Wow! Where did two weeks go?  It’s been quite hectic around here, with the big news that we had an increase in our entry level consulting hiring needs throughout the US (if you are looking for a job that starts in the next 3-4 months, check out careers.accenture.com/jobs, search for job number: 00101787 and complete the online application! We’re specifically looking for technology consulting analysts to join our teams in Boston, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Columbus, Kansas City, St. Louis, New York, Northern California, Phoenix and Reston.)

I’ve been busily working with my team in California to sort through applications to identify applicants with the right skill mix and bring them through our interviews. We typically do the first two rounds via telephone and the final round in person, so I am also scheduling interviewers. There are certainly a lot of logistics and scheduling pieces, but so far we’ve found some really great candidates and are eager to get more in the queue!

We also just got our preliminary hiring plan for fiscal 2012 (Accenture’s fiscal year runs from September 1 to August 31) – which means I’m knee deep in budgets, process evaluations, document reviews, supply planning (meaning figuring out where we’ll get our hires from), assessing new technologies and campus event planning.

On a personal note, I’ve got some vacation time I need to take before the end of August, so I’m trying to squeeze in a few extra days off here and there. Also looking forward to our upcoming office wide event – a baseball game and family picnic! It’s been years since I’ve been to a game, so I am looking forward to it.
