In September 2010, the Energy Market Authority of Singapore appointed Accenture to design and implement an Intelligent Energy System (IES) pilot project. Phase One of the IES will run between 2010 and 2012.
IES is a platform that is being built to prepare Singapore for the future by integrating renewable energy sources, implementing an energy efficiency program and catering for other new technologies such as electric vehicle charging.
Accenture’s role in IES is to design and implement the pilot over the next two years. That involves implementing a range of technologies, on the grid side communications, as well as on the consumer side, in home devices and smart meters.
