Accenture helped this large Malaysian conglomerate develop a learning solution that would help transform its workforce.
By leveraging Accenture’s global experience and tested solutions, the client now has a workforce that is better aligned with its strategic goals—and better skilled to achieving them.
The client—one of the largest organizations in Malaysia and a long established multinational conglomerate—understands that to meet its robust growth aspirations across the Asia Pacific region and around the globe, it must attract, build and retain a workforce that could deliver high performance.
As a forward-thinking corporation, the client recognized the importance of investing in talent development and leveraging effective, business-aligned learning solutions to accelerate workforce aptitude and agility. Furthermore, as a significant global player, the client needs to deliver this learning efficiently at an international scale in a cost-effective manner.
Following an exercise that identified the desired competences in the workforce, there was an urgent need to find a solution that could help bridge the competency gaps. Specifically, there was a need to enhance the strategic thinking of existing leaders, build enterprise-wide capability standards across common functions and accelerate the development of critical workforces.
Over 12 weeks, Accenture was able to use its global assets including the Accenture Operating Model Framework and Learning Capability Maturity Model to help:
Effectively assess the client's existing capabilities and define effective goals for the learning organization, covering its operating model, governance structure, learning processes and organization design.
Define the implementation road map for the transformation journey.
Design the overall Learning Curriculum Framework that provides a consistent learning experience for all workforces across geographies.
Leverage Accenture Academy and global experience to:
Design the curriculums for 16 common job functions (for example, human resource, finance and tax, legal, company secretarial) that are aligned with the new competency framework and strategic business needs, providing a consistent learning experience across the different divisions.
Translate the client's urgent business and workforce imperatives into a six-month Leadership Development Program for high performers, incorporating formal training, external speakers, action-oriented learning and integrated coaching.
Accenture was able to help the client by not only developing an implementation road map for its transformational journey, but also in creating a comprehensive business case to support it, assisting the client to move forward rapidly, with certainty and strategic agility.
