Overview

The client is the largest bank in Germany and a global leader in financial services. When it needed to outsource its global human resources systems, it turned to Accenture.

Business Challenge

The bank recognized that outsourcing could reduce its overall cost structure and, at the same time, improve the performance of its back-office systems and processes. In addition, the bank believed that outsourcing the development and support of their global HR systems to a third-party service provider would enable its internal resources to focus on more strategic initiatives. For help in implementing a sourcing strategy that would lead to improved HR IT efficiencies and performance, the bank turned to Accenture.

How We Helped

Under terms of a seven-year outsourcing arrangement, Accenture assumed responsibility for developing and maintaining more than 35 of the bank's global HR applications including a highly custom global PeopleSoft solution as well as SAP and Siebel technologies. To meet the bank's needs, Accenture leveraged approximately 170 internal and external onshore and offshore resources located in Accenture Delivery Centers in the United States (Atlanta), Germany (Kronberg) and the Philippines (Manila), and maintains onsite support personnel at the bank's various locations to provide direct customer support and relationship management services. The comprehensive services include break-fix, ad-hoc requests, application development and a global 24-hours-a-day, five-days-a-week help desk.

High Performance Delivered

Accenture leveraged our proprietary methodology, tools and best practices to deliver an industrialized solution with continuing efficiencies. The outsourcing arrangement allows the bank to provide HR IT services more effectively and economically with as much as 70 percent of the work serviced from the Accenture offshore delivery center in Manila.

The Accenture Application Outsourcing solution has enabled the bank to reduce its overall HR IT costs by 25 percent while providing flexibility and stability to its HR operations.
