Accenture has designed and implemented a data warehouse and business intelligence reporting solution for a state-owned airline in Asia Pacific.
The airline, offering both domestic and international services, wanted to move from a manual to an automated online reporting process. Accenture’s solution has helped reduce the airline’s report generation time from two days to a few minutes, and has enabled the company’s management to enhance data analysis capabilities.
The airline wanted a business intelligence solution that would serve as a single information source and integrate all systems across the enterprise. The company had tried to implement a solution by itself but soon found that it lacked sufficient internal capabilities to build an enterprise-wide business intelligence solution.
The company chose Accenture to help implement an SAP-based data warehouse and business intelligence solution based on our existing relationship, more than 30 years’ experience of working with SAP and previous work in this area for another major airline.
Accenture designed and developed a new enterprise data warehouse model, technical architecture and 20 management reports. We also:
Built and implemented an airlines enterprise data warehouse and management dashboard.
Created analytics reports for airline operations, as well as passenger revenue and profitability reports.
Imparted training to the client team for further development and improvement.
The implementation covered the entire business including flight operation, network management, route profitability, sales and revenue management, marketing, financial management and controlling, human capital management, customer service and ancillary businesses such as cargo, catering and tours.
This SAP-based solution has helped the airline:
Reduce report generation time from two days to a few minutes. Managers now use their time more efficiently to analyze reports, and plan for future growth and improvement.
Reduce the risk of calculation error that previously existed when reporting was done manually.
