ALBRAS – Alumínio Brasileiro SA – Score System Implementation

Overview

Albras is a large primary aluminum producer strategically located near an Alumina production facility and port located in the municipality of Barcarena, Brazil.

Albras operates four reduction lines with 960 pot cells and produces more than 440,000 tons of aluminum per year. All production is targeted to the external market.

Accenture collaborated closely with Albras to conceive, produce and install the Score System solution for its entire aluminum reduction plant.

Business Challenge

Albras needed an automation solution with all materials and related services included. The project also demanded a redundant control topology that would allow full control and visibility of the aluminum reduction phase. Intended results included cost reduction and efficiency improvements, which would expand Albras’ market share and help it become more competitive.

How We Helped

Accenture was responsible for conceiving, producing and installing the Score System solution for the entire aluminum reduction plant, including four reduction lines and 960 pot cells. Accenture also assisted with personnel training on use of the Score System and empowerment of Albras staff.
