Accenture worked closely with Procter & Gamble (P&G) to define the data, processes and systems required to enable workforce planning and talent management processes.
P&G is well known for recruiting high-performing employees and putting rigorous processes in place to retain and develop those employees. An essential component of this talent retention process is succession, career and workforce planning. In spite of continued successes in these areas, P&G recognized the opportunity to better support and enable these processes by leveraging technology.
Accenture has helped P&G to digitize these key processes and provide P&G with enhanced visibility into career planning decisions for all Human Resources (HR) teams and employees globally—helping to retain high-performing individuals and make informed workforce decisions.

Digitizing its workforce planning and talent management would provide P&G with the ability to cascade leading practices consistently across the organization—with increased talent planning visibility for HR and employees alike.
Knowing Accenture’s level of experience in Human Capital Management (HCM) application development, P&G selected Accenture to provide the technology, application support and SAP capabilities required to build and deploy customized SAP-based talent management applications.

To provide the Talent by Design Solutions, Accenture has developed three, key applications:
My Career. A single place for employees to update their career data with an intuitive user interface: skills, performance reviews and career preferences
Career by Design. HR’s home page to manage talent and succession planning with integrated employee, manager and HR fed data
Workforce by Design. Automation of headcount planning and comparisons with actual data in real time
P&G originally chose Accenture for this key talent management project because of Accenture’s people, reach and capabilities.
