Delivering human services is about outcomes—those that transform communities, families and lives. Even so, the human services community often has a conflicted relationship with outcomes. Agencies and organizations know that understanding, measuring, communicating and sustaining them is essential. They know that outcomes demonstrate true public value and drive legitimacy, interest and funding. Yet many struggle to operationalize a lasting focus on outcomes and impact. From performance metrics and enabling technologies to change management and new forms of service delivery, now is the time for agencies to get more intentional about the results they deliver.
