Payers are in a unique position to leverage healthcare IT to create new models of care for their provider networks that will lower hospital admissions and increase value to their members. This session examined how integrated healthcare delivery—connected health—is evolving and points to a future in which organizations can achieve higher quality, more accessible and cost-effective healthcare while driving integration and innovation.
The speakers discussed the findings of a year-long international study of the healthcare IT progress toward connected health in eight nations: Australia, Canada, England, France, Germany, Singapore, Spain and the United States. These national health system models are diverse, but are under similar financial pressures from economic conditions and rising healthcare costs as well as new challenges for more personalized demands for care.
