The most agile global organizations have realized that volatility offers more opportunity than threat. Accenture identified six ways—or lenses—through which these organizations view volatility. One of these lenses relates to the organizational dimension of agility.
Walter Gossage, managing director for Change Management offerings and capabilities, and David Gartside, managing director responsible for HR and Talent Management offerings and capabilities within Accenture Talent and Organization Performance, recently authored an article, “Working at the Speed of Opportunity,” that explores this dimension.
The authors open the discussion with examples how companies respond too slowly—to market changes, for example, or the need for new products. They then go on to dissect the actions companies can take to improve their organizational ability to respond more quickly.
