Accenture’s Donniel Schulman, managing director – Finance & Enterprise Performance consulting, authored an article titled “The CFO as Chief Innovator” in Bloomberg Businessweek.com.
The article discusses that as growth returns to the business agenda, forward-looking chief financial officers (CFOs) are building the foundation for digital businesses. They are using their enterprisewide perspective to determine the rationale for organizational change, prioritize transformation initiatives and drive them through.
The article also cites the new research—Accenture-Oracle survey of 900 finance leaders—which shows that 70 percent of surveyed CFOs believe their overall level of influence has increased over the past three years. Thus, they are seizing this opportunity to drive broader, transformational change by looking at crucial investments in building agile operating models, reducing operational complexity and boosting competitive advantages.
